Mexico City. The Corazón que Arde ensemble, directed by teacher Adyani Gámiz Vargas, together with the mariachi “Perlita de Occidente” performed this Sunday, September 29, at the Casa de Carranza Museum, after holding concerts at both the Museo del Risco and the Postal Palace.

The group, whose objective is to offer the public the opportunity to learn to sing in a space free of violence, recently premiered a new repertoire in order to pay tribute to the nationalism that is experienced this month, on the occasion of the national holidays.

In interview with The Daythe director of the musical group, Adyani Gámiz Vargas, spoke about inclusion and about these latest concerts in which they have received the support of the Mariposa Blanca Civil Association, which is a comprehensive training and rehabilitation center for people with intellectual disabilities.

“The foundation contacted us after being present at a concert we gave on September 8 at the Casa del Risco Museum, and they proposed to us to collaborate to support and raise funds. Of course we accepted because of the great social work they do,” said Adyani.

This Sunday, the group and the mariachi met to perform a concert at the Casa de Carranza Museum, focused on continuing the celebration of the national holidays on September 15. For this they carried the song as their banner Goodbye, my short girloriginally performed by Ana Gabriel, and which tells the story of the nostalgia that a woman suffers in the absence of her husband.

“For us it was very important to return the spotlight to Mexican music, away from all this Eurocentric vision with which we approach teaching. We wanted to vindicate it and give it greater emphasis. Of course we continue to defend the idea that we all have a place for music, to continue learning through work and perseverance,” stated Gámiz Vargas.

In addition, the director of the Corazón que Arde choir said she was “delighted” to sing in the company of the mariachi “Perlita de Occidente”, directed by Gibrán Ortega, grandson and heir of Marcelino Ortega, one of the great representatives of traditional Mexican music, who With his group he played music with Pedro Infante and Javier Solis.

“We are amazed to continue with these presentations with the purpose of continuing to invite the public to join this project, with the intention that they learn to sing in an environment free of violence, and if we can add to this by providing support to organizations such as ‘ Mariposa Blanca’, well even better,” Adyani Gámiz concluded happily.
