This Saturday, the Lebanese authorities declared official mourning for three days for the martyrdom of the secretary general of the Lebanese Islamic resistance movement Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Nasrallah was assassinated by the Israeli occupation this Friday, after bombing a suburb south of Beirut where the command center of the Shiite militia was located, which since last October increased its military actions against the Zionist entity in rejection of its aggression against the Gaza Strip and in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nayib Mikati issued the memorandum declaring official mourning for Nasrallah. During the mourning, the flag will fly at half-mast in official institutions.
Iran declared five days of mourning. The leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, considered that the assassination was another proof of the terrorist nature of the Zionist regime. For his part, Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian noted the complicity of the United States in the crime and expressed his certainty that the anti-Zionist axis of resistance will strengthen.
The Government of Syria declared general official mourning for three days, where flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the Syrian Arab Republic and in all embassies and diplomatic organizations abroad.
Three days of mourning were declared in Yemen, a measure that was announced by the president of the Supreme Political Council established by the Houthi rebels, Mahdi al Mashat.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohamed Shia al Sudani, declared three days of mourning and condemned Nasrallah’s death. In the official’s opinion, it was “a crime that shows that the Zionist entity has crossed all red lines.”
Through a message, the Supreme Islamic Council stated that history and generations will commemorate the martyred leader and his heroic deeds in confronting the Zionist entity, protecting Lebanon, defending Palestine, supporting Gaza and supporting Iraq in its war against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (or Daesh).
