They carry out health surveillance at the San Francisco Pachuca Fair

The Hidalgo Health Secretariat (SSH), through the Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Copriseh), reinforces preventive measures around the patron saint celebrations and the San Francisco Pachuca Hidalgo 2024 Fair.

To guarantee the safety and well-being of the population, before these festivities, more than 200 food and beverage handlers were trained on topics such as basic sanitation of their facilities as contemplated by current health regulations.

Attendees were also trained regarding the hygienic handling of food, they were provided with face masks and hair covers, as well as materials referring to Good Hygiene Practices (posters and brochures on health guidelines for the sale of food in semi-fixed stalls, on the hand washing and disinfecting fruit and vegetables).

In order for visitors to enjoy a safe environment, on instructions from the head of the state Health Secretariat, Vanesa Escalante, Copriseh will monitor fixed and semi-fixed posts on the outskirts, as well as inside the facilities.

Among the aspects to monitor are personal hygiene, the proper use of protective clothing (cap or hair cover, face mask and apron), correct hand washing, hygienic handling of food, waste control, conservation and protection of raw materials and processed products, as well as the storage of food, drinks and other products offered to the public.

Copriseh personnel verify that temperature regulations and storage conditions are complied with, to guarantee food safety in accordance with current regulations disseminated during previous training.

It will also carry out sampling of water for human use and consumption from general supply sources and in businesses.

In establishments that sell alcoholic beverages, it will be checked that they have permits for their sale, and that the origin of the bottles sold is accredited, in order to prevent the sale of adulterated alcohol.

In addition to the surveillance of food and beverages, it will be monitored that food establishments, as well as bars, comply with the provisions of the General Law for Tobacco Control, in order to guarantee the protection of non-smokers, and supervise the non-sale of bulk cigarettes.

The team of verifiers, who are duly accredited, will tour the fair facilities during its operating hours, and will also respond to complaints and reports that visitors specifically make about a product, service or establishment.

The health surveillance activities will be carried out during the celebration of the San Francisco Pachuca Hidalgo 2024 Fair, from September 26 to October 20, including the patron commemoration of San Francisco de Asís, which takes place on the periphery of the Exconvento on first days of October.

During these festivities, the SSH reiterates the call to citizens to prevent damage to their health, paying special attention to ensuring that sanitary measures are complied with in the businesses they visit, and to ensure that the products and services they purchase are in optimal condition. conditions.
