In a new edition of Power On, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman provided details on Apple’s upcoming new products.
Here’s what we know
According to Mark, Apple is working on two versions of the HomePod with screens, one of which is expected to launch as early as next year.
So it will be a more budgetary smart display codenamed J490 and a more expensive variant with a robotic arm and a larger screen that is codenamed J595.
Both devices will support Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence features and use the new homeOS operating system. Specifically, homeOS is expected to be based on tvOS and the two platforms will be merged in the future.
According to the first leaks, the budget smart display should be equipped with an A18 processor, a square screen, a camera for FaceTime and recognition of various hand gestures. As for the version with a robotic arm, it should cost more than $1,000.
It appears that these two new products will help Apple bring Apple intelligence into the home ecosystem.
