Carelessly and in the group dynamic, a 24-year-old from a district community shared two child pornographic files via WhatsApp. “I thought it was funny at the time, but I regret it now,” he said in court. Last Thursday he had to answer for the possession and distribution of child and youth pornography.

Seen in the files: A ten-year-old having oral sex with a five-year-old. A second file shows a 15-year-old having sexual intercourse with a donkey. “I received the material in a school WhatsApp group and forwarded it carelessly,” he admits. The incident happened in December 2021.
The 24-year-old no longer goes to school and works part-time at a medical technology company. He currently lives in his parents’ house, doesn’t pay rent, but contributes to the monthly expenses. He has not been guilty of anything since the incident in 2021.
Defense attorney pleads for the case to be dropped
One reason why his defense attorney is pleading for the proceedings to be stopped with a fine. “Behind every file like this there is a lot of suffering for the children filmed,” said judge Beate Philipp. She explains: “We are actually looking at a sentence of between six months and ten years in prison. But I also have completely different cases here that involve several hundred files.”
Defendant must pay a fine
In the end, the proceedings are discontinued and a fine is imposed. The defendant must pay 3,000 euros to the Trossinger women’s shelter within the next six months. “We have set the amount so that it is possible for the defendant to pay it,” said the judge. He earns around 1,000 euros net in his part-time job and now has to transfer around 500 euros a month.
