Iltalehti caught up with Fatim Diarra, Rosa Meriläinen and Miisa Nuorgam to comment on the dispute seen in the Petoliset program.
Fatim Diarra, MP of the Greens, has come under heavy criticism on social media. Accusations of bullying have been made against the MP, because he has clashed with social media influencer Miisa Nuorgam Traitors– in the description of the program.
Former MP Rosa Meriläinen has also come under criticism and accusations. The situation escalated yesterday Traitors– with the episode when Rosa made Miisa cry because of the conversation at the breakfast table.
– Samuel (Chime) has dropped for sure! It’s also the only one who defended me (yesterday) at the round table, Miisa speculated aloud at the breakfast table, when the competitors were thinking about who might have been eliminated, i.e. “murdered” from the competition.
– It may not be about you now, Rosa said right after.
Rosa and Fatim have previously spoken to Miisa in that way during the past production season. This time, however, it was the last straw.
– It was the same belittling starving. Such unnecessary meanness and constant belittling. Just like “Miisa, you’re not wanted here, you’re not needed here, your stuff isn’t interesting and this doesn’t belong to you now”, so it was really heavy, Miisa opens her feelings to Iltalehti.
– I had such a meltdown when that type of comment just went on and on. It didn’t matter what I did, said or was, it was like that anyway.
Miisa reveals that Rosa and Fatim had noticed Miisa’s tearful reaction at the breakfast table, but still didn’t react to it in any way other than looking at her.

The competitor talked to a psychologist
Miisa says that she was excited about the episodes of the program, because she has doubted her own thoughts and memories of what happened.
– Since it wasn’t really addressed at any point, I had the thought that I must have been such a terrible person, and that I deserved it, and that it was probably supposed to go that way. I began to doubt my own memories. I thought that I must have misunderstood all the situations, Miisa says she was afraid.
During filming, Miisa met the production psychologist.
– The production psychologist came to tell me that they are going to intervene in the situation in the future. He said that it is no longer pleasant for them to watch from the side either, and that there will be a feeling of bullying, Miisa tells Iltalehte.
Traitors– program producer Sonja Kari points out that the production has not interfered with the relationships between the participants or directed anyone’s behavior at any point in the game. To support well-being, the participants are offered conversational help from a psychologist. The discussions with the psychologist are confidential, and the production cannot comment on their content.
Miisa has previously spoken openly about her autism spectrum diagnosis. He says that some competitors didn’t care, they ignored it.
– It was sad that I had openly told that I am on the autism spectrum, and that it affects my reading of social situations and other things.
– If I brought it up, it was also ignored and it was said that autism has no meaning, or that it is not related to this in any way, although it is indeed related to the readings of social situations, Miisa reveals.

Contact after filming
Miisa tells Iltalehte that Fatim has apologized to Miisa.
– He apologized. However, we haven’t discussed the matter between the two of us anymore after the program, he reveals.
– Yesterday he sent a message asking if I could tell on my social media that he has apologized to me, he added.
Contact with Rosa has been even less. Miisa says that she is not completely sure whether Rosa has apologized to her for her behavior. According to Miisa, they haven’t had any kind of contact since filming.
Fatim Diarra apologizes
Iltalehti also reached out to Fatimi by email to answer the bullying accusations.
He admits that he behaved wrongly.
– The point is that I have offended someone else with my behavior, which is never acceptable and I have apologized for that, he admits in his e-mail message.
– I can only answer for my own behavior, and I am not proud of my behavior, on the contrary.

What factors led to the fact that Miisa’s words or actions started to annoy you?
– This could certainly be explained by the stress that arose from a pressurized and isolated environment that was foreign to me. However, the biggest culprit this time can be found in the mirror. At work and in everyday life, I always try to ensure that when my emotions get heated, I first take a moment of oxygen before reacting. This time, however, I didn’t do that, partly out of necessity, and I let my emotions spill out in a way that was unacceptable, he answers.
Fatim also shares her own point of view on the heated breakfast conversation.
– I asked Miisa right after breakfast if she wanted to talk about it. We didn’t discuss Miisa’s wish until a little later. Then we sat down alone, talked about it and I apologized.
He feels that Miisa accepted the apology well and describes their relationship as good and neutral at the moment.
Fatima’s apology was not shown in the episode. He says that he has been in contact with the production as well.
– I have been in contact with the production to ask why my apology had ended up being cut from the program. However, I don’t blame the production or its wonderful professionals for anything. As I already stated on Facebook, the production company did not put offensive words in my mouth, I said them myself and I take full responsibility for my words.

This is how Rosa Meriläinen commented
Contacted by Iltalehti, Rosa says that she hasn’t watched yesterday Traitors-period, and is not aware of the uproar on social media. He feels that he is on good terms with Miisa.
– In my opinion, I am on good terms with her (Miisa) and I like her.
– In my opinion, we have had a very pleasant meeting after the program, and there has been no talk of this.
He also feels that the emotional outbursts seen in the program are explained by the game itself, fatigue and excitement.
This is how he commented on the breakfast commotion.
– I remember being told that Miisa cried. But of course there, even tension can break out into tears and there are many reasons why there are emotional outbursts. For example, tension or fatigue.
– There hasn’t been much talk about it, and I didn’t know that he was injured.
Did you apologize or do you feel you have something to apologize for?
– I don’t remember if I’ve apologized for any situation there, but of course always if you’ve behaved badly, you have to apologize.
– If he is injured, then you definitely have to talk to him. At the time (during filming) I didn’t have the impression that there were genuine feelings of injury, but of course such competitions are always a bit emotional.
