The acting legend is gone.
British actress Maggie Smith has died, reported the BBC. Smith was 89 years old when he died.
The family confirmed the actor’s death to the BBC on Friday.
– He died peacefully in hospital early this morning, Friday 27 September. He was at the end with his friends and family. She will be missed by two sons, five loving grandchildren who are devastated by the passing of their extraordinary mother and grandmother, the actor’s sons Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin said in a statement.
Actress Maggie Smith is known for, among other things, the Downton Abbey series.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their good care and kindness towards the actor during his last days.

A big star
