Around 20 years ago the two went skiing together in Crans-Montana. “Roger must have been 18 or 19 years old,” Rosset remembers in the “Tennis Legend” podcast.

And suddenly there was a big moment of shock on the slopes. “He overtook me and drove over a bump. He took off – I thought: Shit! This is a disaster!”

Federer flew backwards through the air several meters and landed hard on the snow. “His body was twisted in all directions. I was sure he had broken something and I was scared,” Rosset continued.

He thought to himself: “Imagine if his career had been over because of this. I would have died for Switzerland.”
Roger Federer: “I drove like a madman”
The maestro spoke about the accident on “Le Matin” in 2019. «I drove like a madman, took a jump, flew ten meters, fell. And found myself 100 meters further down in the snow. Marc laughed, but he was worried about me.”

Fortunately, Rosset’s fears did not come true. However, the event led to the maestro giving up skiing and concentrating entirely on tennis. Until the end of your career.
