Ajax announced this in the presentation presented on Thursday annual report of the 2023/2024 season. As in previous years, the season tickets were sold out. To give Ajax players without a season ticket the opportunity to cheer on Ajax, the club introduced – in addition to individual ticket sales for each match – the resale platform.
Through this platform, season ticket holders can sell their tickets in an official and secure manner to another supporter if they are unable to attend themselves. An excellent way for non-season ticket holders to visit Ajax every now and then.
The fact that the platform was well received was evident from the 63,030 tickets sold on the resale platform. It generated around 1.4 million euros in additional turnover for Ajax. And also positive: we saw few unoccupied seats in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
Those empty seats were a thorn in our side for years. We were therefore happy that Ajax decided to introduce the resale platform in the 2021/2022 season.
How it works? We would like to refresh your memory. In the Ajax app, in addition to the option to share a ticket, you will also see a resale button. Once you select this option, the mobile ticket will disappear from your account and the ticket will be offered on the resale platform. If your ticket has been sold, you will receive a refund within five working days after the home game.

You can offer your card on the resale platform until the match. Do you still want to use your card yourself? You can then withdraw your offer, as long as the card has not yet been sold to another Ajax player.
Interested in purchasing tickets via the resale platform? Then go to the ticket shop from Ajax to view the offer per match. Every Premier League match is available approximately two weeks prior to the match.
Naturally, we also read the less positive things to be expected in the annual report. Ajax recorded a loss of 9.8 million euros for the 2023/2024 financial year. Last financial year there was a profit of 39 million euros.
The decrease of 48.8 million euros compared to the 2022/2023 season is mainly due to lower European premiums and a lower result from transfers, Ajax announced at the own website. After processing the negative result of 9.8 million euros, Ajax’s equity amounts to 226.4 million euros.
Ajax also reports that net turnover fell by 23 percent to 152 million euros. This is partly the result of lower European premiums and lower merchandise sales. We’re guessing that Ajax and Adidas won’t come up with a cycling line again…
