Mayor Andreas Igel described the representatives of clubs, groups and initiatives who came to the clubhouse last Friday as “enablers” of the sport. In order to thank them for their commitment and to create an opportunity for exchange, the city invited people to the “Ludwigsfeld Evening of Sports 2024”. The many players make both everyday training operations and sporting events possible through their commitment to sports.
And so every guest was personally received and warmly welcomed at the entrance to the clubhouse hall. For the evening of sports, Mayor Andreas Igel, the responsible department head Paul Niepalla and the specialist service manager for social affairs and sport Susann Scholz from the Ludwigsfeld city administration took over.
Over 4,000 children, women and men are members of Ludwigsfeld sports clubs. There are also leisure groups and many people from Ludwigsfeld who are active in sports without being organized in a club. Trainers, trainers, club boards from the treasurer to the chairman, president, grounds and hall attendants – they all ensure that the general conditions are right.
That’s precisely why sport is always a team effort, and often even social work, said Mayor Igel in his short greeting. The municipal sports facilities could also be used free of charge in the future. Thanks to the support of the city council, the city will even be able to cover the costs of using the district’s sports facilities in the future. The renovation of the Bebel sports field, the renovation of the gallery in the city sports hall and the further upgrading of the Waldstadion are some examples of how the Ludwigsfeld sports facilities can better meet modern requirements. With the construction of the new primary schools, additional sports facilities will be added.
The evening was rounded off with performances by a juggling artist, a lecture on the subject of child protection in sport and the introduction of various sports clubs. Ronny Weigang from the Kutscherklub eV reported, among other things, on the founding of a Ludwigsfeld group in the hobby of horsing. Hobby horse riding is a new trend sport in which the 1st German championship has just taken place.
