Mexico City. The General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) will begin the electoral process of the judicial branch next Monday, reported the president advisor of the Institute Guadalupe Taddei Zavala.
Before installing the session, the counselors and staff of the electoral body will carry out a civic ceremony, in which there will be no representatives of the political parties, since they cannot intervene in this process.
He explained that all the councilors have held permanent meetings so that on Monday the process begins for which a calendar of activities will be prepared and a temporary commission for the elective process will be established.
In addition to this, he explained that tonight they will have to make reforms to their session regulations, so that representatives of political parties do not take part in this process.
“We are seeking rapprochement with the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies and we are in the construction of the entire dilemma that we will have to present in order to give it a channel,” she said, interviewed within the framework of the general council session.
The counselor said that she will not be able to be on vacation to carry out everything, in addition to the fact that they will have to install a temporary commission to monitor the electoral process and indicate to the operational areas so that they generate the electoral geographical framework and the calendar of activities.
He clarified that this is not contemplated in the budget, but it is enough to include in 2025 everything that has to do with the process.
“We have to define the geographical framework with the legislative power to quickly make the first calculations. The electoral processes have a different cartography and a new one will have to be outlined for the judiciary because the assignment of judges and magistrates has to do with other constituencies,” he stressed.
In addition, he commented that they will also make contact with the judiciary to have a faithful subject of its composition.
He considered that the major challenge is “to set the same quality standards and not make the INE different and we will have to offer the same standards.”
He admitted that there are many operational difficulties, but for that they have highly qualified technical areas and delegates and local public organizations with whom they must work hand in hand.
