Ludwig Robert von Erlach (born August 25, 1794 in Hindelbank; † June 19, 1879 in Bolligen) was a Swiss landowner and politician.

Ludwig Robert von Erlach was the son of Karl Ludwig von Erlach and Johanna Margaretha von Muralt; he had a twin brother Moritz.[1] After his father’s death, he received his uncle Anton Gottlieb von Muralt as his guardian.[2] Around 1808 he attended high school in Bern, where he met Georg von Escher.[3] In 1817 he married his sister Anna Maria.[4] After studying in Lausanne, he returned to Bern in 1812 and began his military career.[5] He came to the Grand Council in 1824, was senior mayor of Konolfingen from 1826 to 1831, and again in the Grand Council from 1839. He was the owner of Hindelbank Castle, which he sold to the state of Bern in 1866.
