The secretary of state confirmed that since 2010, the main goal of the government has been for everyone who wants and is able to have the opportunity to work. This goal is unbroken, because compared to 2010, there are now almost 1 million more people working in Hungary, and the average Hungarian worker’s salary has more than tripled, he said.
The government’s goal is to increase activity in the labor market and increase as well as the rate of wage growth, especially in relation to the minimum wage, thus giving priority support to those with lower incomes.
Negotiations between employers and workers are currently underway, however, the government supports the minimum wage to reach 50 percent of the total average wage by 2027, confirmed secretary of state.
