The planned new hockey arena in Pardubice could have a capacity of up to 22,296 spectators, which would make it the largest arena in the world.
The owner of Dynamo, Petr Dědek, brought the project to Pardubice Town Hall. Last December, when he got the green light to build, he talked about the capacity of “only” 15,000 spectators. It should be completed in August 2027, the website said sports.cz.
“We presented the economic benefits of the planned multifunctional hall for the town. It is based on the capacity of 22,000 spectators for hockey. The total investment in the complex building, which in addition to the hall also includes a small area, a hotel and a parking garage, will be CZK 10.5 billion (converted to approximately 417 million euros),” said Petr Dědek on his account on the X social network.
As recently as December, it listed a price tag of 8 billion Czech crowns (about 317 million euros). “The exact number of spectators will not be known until the next stage of the preparation, it will depend on the number of sections and the size of the seats. It is related to the comfort of the spectators and the service,Petr Dědek described it earlier. “He will definitely be an ability that Dynamo will use. We could already easily sell 15,000 tickets for some games,” the owner of hockey Pardubice believes.
The deputy mayor of Pardubice and TV reporter Jan Hrabal published the planned layout of the hall on the same social network.
It should consist of the lower levels (7,518 seats, 2,207 standing places and 44 places for the disabled), the middle (5,699 seats, 50 standing places and 20 places for the disabled), the high (5,512 places to sit and 22 places to). disabled) and VIP tribunes (1,224 places).
“It’s an impressive project and the deadline is ambitious. So we’re keeping our fingers crossed,” said the representative of the city Vít Ulrych after the presentation.
According to the portal sports.cz Petr Dědek expects the arena to host 100 events a year, with up to 26,000 visitors coming to the concerts.
news-item-description">The new hockey stadium in Nitra has been talked about for several years. Despite the fact that the “corgons” are two-time Slovak champions, they play their home games in an almost 60-year-old hall, which from the outside does not even look like to a winter stadium for many.
Currently, the largest hockey hall in the world is the arena in St. Petersburg with a capacity of 21,542 spectators, followed by the Bell Center in Montreal (21,273). No other hockey stadium exceeds the capacity of 20,000 spectators.
