Warning, there are spoilers ahead for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2, Episode 6 “Where is he?” and episode 7 “Forever doomed to death”!
In “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2, Sauron, disguised as Annatar (Charlie Vickers), is up to mischief in Eregion and manipulates the Elven blacksmith Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards). Through cunning and treachery, he seduces Celebrimbor into forging the Rings of Power, while a battle threatens to rage at the gates of Eregion.
Sauron’s power even extends so far that he can change Celebrimbor’s perception so that Celebrimbor is unaware of the siege by Adar (Sam Hazeldine) and the orcs. In one of the final moments of the episode, just before Celebrimbor confronts Annatar and is once again deceived, Sauron cuts his hand. What this is for is not revealed.
Does Sauron use his blood for dark magic?

Just before Sauron goes into Celebrimbor’s room to tell him more lies, he ominously cuts his hand. He grins darkly, but then the wound is no longer visible. The only thing the hand does is touch Celebrimbor before he goes outside and finds peace there.
Did touching the open wound allow Sauron to manipulate Celebrimbor’s perception? Since Celebrimbor wears clothing, it is unlikely that Sauron is using his blood to touch him with it, but probably wants to perform some other kind of dark magic with the wound.
The next moment, Celebrimbor rushes outside and finds a “reality” created by Sauron in which everyone lives peacefully, while in reality there is war. Sauron approaches Celebrimbor, holding two things behind his back: mithril ore and Feanor’s hammer.
He gives both to Celebrimbor so that he can forge the other 9 rings for the people where we know Sauron’s influence is strongest. Did Sauron defile and corrupt the hammer and mithril with his blood so that Celebrimbor’s rings would be corrupted as well?
Sauron’s influence over the rings grows. […] And as the series progresses we will see that I have a very active role in the creation of the dwarven rings and then, as the series continues, the human rings!
Without giving any spoilers, but I have more… – let me say, I bring even more of my personality into it! The corruption increases with each ring.Charlie Vickers in an exclusive interview with Netzwelt
Celebrimbor actor Charles Edwards accompanies Sauron’s encore while forging the rings: “And then he gives it over there [zeigt auf Charlie Vickers] “There’s still a little something in the mix.”
Blood instead of mithril! Sauron’s dark plan

In fact, Sauron cut his hand in order to pass his black blood to Celebrimbor as mithril. Since the dwarves wouldn’t give him actual mithril, Sauron probably just decided to step up his game and “sacrifice” his own blood in order to give the rings power and be able to control them.
The final episode of “The Rings of Power” Season 2 awaits you on October 3, 2024, streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Work is also said to be underway on season 3 of the “Lord of the Rings” series.
