Following its acclaimed presentation at the Vitoria FesTVal, RTVE is preparing for the premiere of its new series, Las Abogadas. This series promises to capture the public’s attention with a plot set in Madrid in 1964, a period of great social and political changes in Spain through numerous well-known faces, including the former mayor of Madrid Manuela Carmena.
The story begins with Lola González’s arrival at the Faculty of Law in Madrid. Coming from a well-off family, Lola faces a completely new and challenging world. At the university, she meets Cristina Almeida (Elisabet Casanovas), Manuela Carmena (Irene Escolar) and Paca Sauquillo (Almudena Pascual), students from an upper year who will become her friends and mentors. She also establishes a special relationship with Javier Sauquillo (Manuel Canchal) and Enrique Ruano (Álvaro Rico), with whom she will develop something more than a friendship.
The series not only focuses on the academic life of these young people, but also explores the harsh reality faced by the most disadvantaged people. Lola gets an internship at Cristina’s office, where together with Manuela and Paca, they are revolutionizing the legal profession. From their labor law offices, these lawyers are dedicated to defending workers before the Public Order Court.
