Mental Health Information Week in Garches

As part of Mental Health Week, the city of Garches invites you to a series of events on October 10 at the Sidney Bechet Cultural Center. Admission is free and the program promises to be rich in exchanges and emotions:

  • 19h00 : A choirmade up of people concerned with mental health.
  • 20h00 : Screening of the film “Le Grand Bain”followed by a film-debate with mental health professionalsThis moment of exchange will be an opportunity to discuss the representation of mental health in society and the issues it raises.

In parallel, two psychologists of Medical-Psychological Center (CMP) will intervene at college near the 3rd grade students around the project ” Tree of received ideas ” This intervention will take place in two stages:

  • A first exchange where students will be invited to identify and discuss the misconceptions about mental health.
  • A second exchange intended to reflect together on the “ solutions ” and the answers to be given to these preconceived ideas.

Students will make cards with the preconceived ideas written on the front and the solutions on the back. These cards will then be hung on a wooden treespecially designed by the municipal workshopsThis symbolic tree will be exhibited at the media library as well as at the college.

This event is a great opportunity for raise public awareness and promote a better understanding mental health issues. We look forward to seeing many of you participate in this solidarity and educational initiative !
