Meta (recognized as a terrorist in the Russian Federation and banned) introduced the affordable mixed reality headset Quest 3S.
The new product is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip, like the older model. In addition, she received the same rulers. However, in terms of dimensions, the device turned out to be a little bigger than Quest 3, but this did not affect how easy it was.
Unlike the Quest 3, the Quest 3S does not have depth sensors. And the viewing angle (96 by 90 degrees) is slightly smaller (110 by 96 degrees). There is a dedicated button for changing image modes.
The display resolution for each eye is 1832×1920 pixels, like Meta Quest 2. The helmet works for about 2.5 hours without recharging.
Pre-orders are already open. Meta Quest 3S sales are expected to begin on October 15. The new product costs $299.99 for the version with 128 GB of memory, $399.99 for 256 GB and $499.99 for the 512 GB model. For comparison, the Apple Vision Pro will cost you $3,500. [The Verge]
