La Paz, 25 Sep 2024 (ATB Digital).- An American Werewolf in London, from 1981, will be screened by the Bolivian Cinematheque on Saturday, September 28 at 1-9:00, in the cycle The Best Film in the World. The art director and producer, Sol Calle, will be in charge of presenting the film that “moved her floor or she loved it.”
Released on August 21, 1981 in the United Kingdom, the film is about two American boys who go backpacking through Europe. In England, in a desolate rural area, people give them chilling advice: “Stay on the path,” “watch out for the moon.”
As the young men set out into the darkness, they hear a terrifying howl, but they are unaware that they are being pursued by a legendary, bloodthirsty beast.
After a serious attack, one of them retreats to the house of a beautiful nurse to recover, but begins to have visions in which his friend appears as a zombie and, during nights of full moon, he feels that his animal instincts begin to accentuate. He soon experiences disturbing changes in his mind and body.
The film is considered one of the most iconic comedy-horror films in the history of cinema.
Its presentation will be led by Sol Calle, art director and producer, with extensive experience and participation in films such as Deception at First Sight, Averno, Yvy Maraey, La Reina del Sur 3 or the current Mano Own.
