Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital | Pomerleau

Collaboration at the heart of an innovative project

Imagine a state-of-the-art hospital, rivaling the size of the main building at Place Ville Marie in Montreal. The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital is one of the largest construction sites in Canada. This ambitious project meets the growing needs of the population and embodies our commitment to innovation, sustainability and collaboration.

Pomerleau, the project manager, is responsible for the design and construction of the hospital. Our mission? To plan, coordinate and execute the work while respecting the strictest quality and safety standards. Pomerleau supervises each step, orchestrating the efforts of the various partners and subcontractors to ensure the success of the project.

Promoting sustainability

This project is aiming for LEED v4 Certified in Healthcare, with a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. Waste management programs reduce environmental impact and gardens and green spaces promote biodiversity. Indoors, materials with low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions improve air quality. Finally, electric vehicle charging stations encourage greener modes of transportation.

Innovating for the future

Innovation is at the heart of this project. Building Information Modeling (BIM) makes project planning and management more efficient. 3D printing increases accuracy and durability. Augmented Reality (AR) facilitates on-site coordination, and Smart Management Systems (BMS) optimize energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The project rests on solid foundations, with more than 540 piles ensuring the stability and durability of the structure. These piles support the hospital’s significant loads, ensuring a solid and sustainable construction.
