The international “Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development” (OECD) has now proposed making people better fit in these five areas:

  1. Saving and retirement planning,
  2. Financial and capital market,
  3. Budget planning, loans and debts,
  4. digital financial literacy and
  5. Sustainability.

However, it is not yet clear how exactly this will happen. It could be that students will learn more about financial topics in class in the future. Other educational opportunities outside of school are also conceivable.

💡 It’s not a lack of interest: According to the OECD, more than eight out of ten 14- to 24-year-olds in Germany would like to learn more about retirement planning, money management and investment opportunities at school.
