The co-chairman of “We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria” Kiril Petkov threw viewers and voters into a frenzy this morning by making a unique prediction for the outcome of the vote on October 27.
“I consider the chances of being the first political force in the upcoming elections to be high,” he declared to BNT.
The co-chairman of the PP-DB once again shone with his inarticulate speech, the media commented. The unclear speech of the former prime minister caused the presenters of the BNT morning block Hristina Hristova and Simeon Ivanov to almost block.
In addition, Petkov presented his pre-election promises. “Motherhood should be paid for a second year for women and mothers who want to return to work,” Petkov said, and was immediately caught for this statement. “This is still the case now,” countered Hristova and explained: “They still receive money in the second year.”
“Yes, but in a much larger one. By 60 percent. So that young women can go back to work,” Kiril Petkov tried to escape.
“We are returning to the basis for which we entered politics. We return to the youth and the future of Bulgaria. We did the free kindergartens and the tax breaks,” he added.
“In fairy tales, everyone is very strong, but when we actually have to do something, no one does anything. If we had trust with GERB, we wouldn’t go to the next elections. We just don’t have it,” revealed Petkov.
“It doesn’t matter with whom we will be in a coalition after the early parliamentary elections after October 27, if Bulgaria moves forward in its development as a European country. What we are currently putting as a model is the model in which there is an equidistant prime minister – a professional, a lawyer or an economist to recognize the main policy in the parties’ program,” explained Petkov.
According to him, there are suitable candidates for prime minister after the early elections. “The last thing I would do right now is to say ideas and candidates for prime ministers, but what I would like to say is that we don’t want to have ministers and a prime minister, but what we will want is the income policy to be part of the management program,” said Petkov.
Kiril Petkov denied being naive, and has a vision for Bulgaria for justice and an equal start for the country’s development. Based on the “trial-error” principle, Petkov sees the right direction for Bulgaria.
