PJF workers “bend” the Judiciary and extend work stoppage

The actions undertaken by the organizations that represent the workers of the Judicial Branch, as well as the resistance to ending the work stoppage of the jurisdictional bodies, “bent” the Federal Judicial Council and managed to reverse the agreement to restart activities next Monday.

They also agreed to set up negotiating tables where the granting of positions to those who currently work for fees will be analyzed, as well as the possibility of maintaining the better working conditions and salaries they currently enjoy, once the judicial reform is implemented.

After a meeting lasting more than five hours, Judge Juana Fuentes, leader of the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges (JUFED), and Patricia Aguayo, spokesperson for a group of workers, announced that they had triumphed and the councilors had agreed to reject the agreement issued in which the restart of legal deadlines was established, that is, the reactivation of work in all courts and tribunals.

They announced that the Judiciary agreed to maintain the suspension of activities until October 2, when they will review again whether there are conditions “for working.”

Representatives of various associations that bring together secretaries and rank-and-file workers who participated in the working table, accompanied the aforementioned leaders during the message they addressed to dozens of workers who since 9 in the morning and who are still at this moment outside the headquarters of the Judicial Council and who did not stop for a moment shouting slogans for their demands to be met.

Judge Juana Fuentes indicated that the new agreement reached by the members of the Plenary of the Judiciary was given by a divided vote since the counselors Bernardo Batiz, Celia Maya and Eva Verónica de Gyvés, maintained their position that the work should be reactivated and in favor of continuing the strike voted the minister Norma Lucía Piña Hernández and the counselors Lilia Mónica López Benítez, José Alfonso Montalvo Martínez and Sergio Javier Molina Martínez.
