The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 was recently replaced by its successor, the Galaxy Watch 7. However, the first one is still a good smartwatch today, and it also has the advantage of having seen its price drop over the months. It was during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024, which took place last July, that the South Korean brand unveiled its new Samsung Galaxy Watch 7. While the latter is not lacking in assets, it still obtained a lower score in our test than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. The latter is still worth a look thanks to its good technical specifications, and it is even more recommendable when its price plummetslike during these French Days.

A smart watch that’s still as neat as ever
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is a smartwatch that has more futuristic and modern lines, all in curves, than the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, more elegant. Moreover, unlike the latter, the Galaxy Watch 6 is devoid of the famous rotating bezel that cut into the screen of the Classic. We are therefore entitled to a much more present panel, especially since the borders that frame it are much smaller than those found on the Galaxy Watch 5. Another advantage of its design: its aluminum design, which offers appreciable lightness, even if the stainless steel of the Classic model promises greater robustness.
Regarding this screen, more specifically, the 40 mm model integrates a 1.31-inch Amoled panel, with Always-On of course, and which has a maximum brightness of 2000 cd/m², like Apple Watch Ultra, which is rather rare on the market. On the interface side, the watch is equipped with One UI Watch 5, based on Wear OS 4, and provides a wide variety of applications with the Play Store. On the other hand, it is a shame that the watch is not compatible with iPhones… Regarding its Exynos W930 chip, it guarantees great fluidity.
Tailored for health monitoring
In terms of health monitoring, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is no slouch and features a host of sensors that allow it to measure continuous heart rate, pulsed blood oxygen saturation, stress levels, sleep quality and even the user’s temperature during the night. Samsung smartphone owners will also be entitled to an electrocardiogram and blood pressure measurement. The watch even includes an infrared temperature sensor, which would predict the arrival of menstruation based on the significant increase in skin temperature during sleep. Be careful, this is just an indicator.
On the sports side, the watch recognizes 90 sports activities and even gives the possibility to personalize your workouts. We can also count on a rather effective GPS tracking. Finally, as for its autonomy, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 in the 44 mm version can reach two days of use, with moderate use. We must therefore expect less for the 40 mm model, which is a little disappointing.
