Photo of female referees in locker room ends up in chat: 39-year-old sentenced in Pescara

A 39-year-old man from Pescara was sentenced to six months in prison (suspended sentence) on charges of having disclosed, through publication on the WhatsApp group of an amateur sports association, a photo, illegally taken without the knowledge of the subjects, which portrays two female soccer referees inside a changing room, busy changing clothes, after a soccer match.
The man was also ordered to pay compensation to the two women – two thousand euros each, the sum established by the judge – who had joined the civil action. The sentence was handed down by the sole judge of the Court of Chieti, Luca De Ninis. The public prosecutor Natascia Troiano had requested a nine-month prison sentence for the 39-year-old.
The facts date back to February 2019, the locker room is that of a football field in Abruzzo. After learning of the existence of the photo and its disclosure on the chat, the two women filed a complaint: the photo, probably taken from a window, portrays one of the two in underwear and the other wearing only a shirt. The author of the photo remained unknown.
