Kyren Williams put on a show in Week 3 of the NFL to lead the Los Angeles Rams’ epic comeback over the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 24-27.
The 24-year-old running back carried his team on his shoulders to rally against the 49ers, who even had a 14-point lead at SoFi Stadium.
A lethal duo between Brock Purdy and Jauan Jennings combined to score three touchdowns for San Francisco, but Kyren Williams did not shrink.
Late in the second quarter, with the score at 14-0, Williams took advantage of a pass from Matthew Stafford and then eluded Talanoa Hufanga with a spectacular pirouette to enter the end zone and bring the Rams closer.
In the third quarter, he again reduced the lead to 21-7 by rushing into the end zone on first and goal. After celebrating his second touchdown of the day, Kyren Williams made a great gesture to a little Rams fan in the stands by giving him the ball.
In the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, the 49ers took a 10-point lead over the Rams with a Jake Moody field goal to make it 24-14.
Minutes later, Moody missed a 55-yard field goal to give the Rams life and Williams recorded his third touchdown of the day, his second on the ground, to tie the game with two minutes left.
Ultimately, it was rookie Joshua Karty who gave the Los Angeles Rams the victory with a three-point field goal with two seconds left in the game at SoFi Stadium.
The Rams earned their first win of the 2024 NFL season, while the 49ers suffered their second straight loss; both are 1-2 after Week 3.
