The Wetzikon City Council has approved a project loan for the new construction of the Bachtelstrasse/Spitalstrasse roundabout and awarded the engineering work.

As the city of Wetzikon announced, a loan of CHF 112,000 including VAT has been approved for the engineering work (road, lighting and drainage) for the new construction of the Bachtelstrasse/Spitalstrasse roundabout as well as the additional services (traffic concept, landscape architecture).
A loan of CHF 23,000 including VAT is approved for the renewal of the sewer system.
Municipal development plan provides for selective traffic calming
The municipal development plan (Traffic Plan I) provides for selective traffic calming measures at this roundabout in order to improve the quality of stay.
The current spatial development concept (REK) of the city of Wetzikon envisages an upgrade in the form of a square design.
In order to define the general direction, an operational and design concept was drawn up in autumn 2021. Based on this, a holistic renovation project is to be developed.
