In recent days, a video went viral again showing what the luxury car brand’s plans are, Rolls Roycefor its future vehicles. During the presentation of the project 103EX, which is stipulated to be launched in 2035you can see that the company’s perspective is to make its cars completely autonomous and optimized towards the luxurious or eccentric in all its facets.

Its appearance on the automotive scene breaks all expectations, projecting a new way of travelling, where luxury, technology and sustainability intertwine in perfect harmony. With its futuristic appearance, it is not just a car, but a mobile living room, a space that, more than transporting, transforms the very concept of mobility.

Launched in 2016 as part of the celebration of the parent company’s centenary BMW (owned by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars since 1998), this autonomous and electric vehicle was the first step towards a technological revolution within the automotive world. The brand’s own CEO, Torsten Müller-Goldsmithacknowledged that there is still a long way to go, but the vision is already clear: to offer a select group of users an experience that challenges what is known until now.

It is a vehicle of epic proportions: almost 6 meters long and 1.6 meters high, its imposing design is the reflection of meticulous engineering. Two 28-inch diameter wheels, hand-made with aluminum spokes, support this machine, integrating into a body that favors aerodynamics. The front looks more like that of a luxury cruise than that of a car, with its majestic headlights and the statuette that distinguishes Rolls Royce with its symbolism of classic elegance.

One of the most talked about features is the luggage compartment. At the push of a button, a tray pulls out the suitcases, saving the passenger the slightest effort. It is a designer piece, emulating the wheels of the car, and as if that were not enough, in a gesture of extreme refinement, a pair of luxury umbrellas emerge from the doors, heated to dry quickly after a rainy day.

“I have never seen anything like this,” he exclaimed. Alexthe famous youtuber of Supercar Blondiewhile presenting the car on his channel last year. His video, viewed by more than 10 million people, captured the essence of this motorsport masterpiece. Eleanorthe artificial intelligence that governs the vehicle, steals the spotlight: a robot not only in charge of driving, but also of managing every detail of the passenger’s itinerary, offering information about routes, schedules and even reminding them of appointments.

“Imagine a trip where you don’t have to do anything at all,” Alex continued, adding: “Everything is taken care of by Eleanor. You just enjoy it.”

He Rolls Royce 103EX redefines the concept of a car interior. When the doors are opened, the roof slides back, allowing the owner to enter standing up, like someone entering a gala. The hand-woven silk carpet, the ivory sofa in place of traditional seats, and a giant OLED screen replacing the dashboard are all designed to make the occupant forget that they are in a car.

The return of the prototype to Goodwoodits home in England, in 2019, was a proud moment for the brand. After four years travelling to various exhibitions, the CEO couldn’t help but feel nostalgic when welcoming back this gem.

“We are delighted to welcome it home,” he said. “This vehicle is a clear statement of what the future will be for us: autonomous, electric, emission-free and completely personalised.”

In a world moving towards sustainable mobility, the 103EX uses no fossil fuels, thereby eliminating emissions of harmful gases. Its batteries have the capacity for massive charging, ensuring that long journeys are not a problem. Every detail is thought out to ensure that this is, without a doubt, the most perfect car imaginable.

Rolls Royce’s vision is ambitious: to change the paradigm of transport and elevate it to an unparalleled experience. But this dream will not be accessible to everyone. When it finally has a price, only a few will be able to afford to buy a piece of engineering that seems more like something out of a science fiction story than a factory assembly line.
