NAC Breda failed to win the away match in de Kuip against Feyenoord. On Sunday afternoon, they lost 2-0 in Rotterdam. In the first half, Ayase Ueda headed in. After the break, it was Quinten Timber who shot the final score from the penalty spot.
Without Carl Hoefkens, NAC started the match full of energy. In de Kuip, it was the club from Breda that immediately took the initiative. However, this was quickly taken over by the Rotterdammers. They did this without causing any danger. NAC could not make a fist either, which led to a first half without chances.
Up front, NAC could not get a foothold. Feyenoord also did not really offer anything in return. The only real chance of the first half was also a hit. After a cross from Feyenoord’s left back, it was Ueda who headed in the 1-0.
Defensively strong and penalty decided match
NAC was a bit stronger after the break than before the break. After the 2-0 via a penalty, the team of assistant coach Kaczmarek only had to hold on. The team from Breda did this well, while Feyenoord did not create many big chances anymore, there were still some shots from a distance and Ivanusec from Feyenoord produced another beautiful bicycle kick. This was easily saved by goalkeeper Bielica and so it did not become 3-0. NAC could not counter this either, so it remained at 2-0. NAC will try to forget this match quickly and focus on the away match at FC Twente. The team with head coach Hoefkens will play there next Sunday.
