PSV also managed to win the sixth match in the Eredivisie, but it wasn’t easy when visiting Fortuna Sittard. Thanks to two goals from Malik Tillman, Bosz’s team managed to take the three points back to Eindhoven. The Eindhoven team is still undefeated in the Eredivisie.
After sixty minutes, Malik Tillman once again trudged to the corner flag. A run that went at a pace as if PSV had a 4-0 lead. But nothing could be further from the truth. The scoreboard showed a surprising 1-1 score.
But the body language of the American midfielder was typical of PSV’s game. It was sticky and not at all frivolous. Something we are not used to from Peter Bosz’s team. But it does not come as a complete surprise either.
Laziness
Last season, PSV’s strength was that it was motivated to the bone in every match. Even against the ‘smaller’ opponents. But that is different this season. Coach Peter Bosz already indicated that he does not think the game is consistent enough yet.
And in Sittard there seemed to be complacency in the team. PSV stood on the field in Limburg with a laconic attitude. An attitude that everything will turn out fine. And that was the case.
Tillman celebrated man
Tillman of all people became the celebrated man at PSV. He had put his team ahead after fifteen minutes. A header by Ezequiel Bullaude put Fortuna alongside PSV. With twenty minutes to go, the Eindhoven team took the lead again. Tillman shot a free kick brilliantly into the goal: 2-1.
PSV quickly made it 3-1 through Luuk de Jong and finally locked up the game. However, it suddenly gave away three big chances right after that third goal. Unlike Juventus, PSV can afford these kinds of mistakes against Fortuna.
It is the story of PSV in the Eredivisie. Even at half strength and with a haughty attitude, Peter Bosz’s team ‘simply’ manages to add three points.
