Description
Moto3: Preview – First win despite penalty: Angel Piqueras celebrates his first Moto3 success in Misano! The young Spaniard starts the race with a handicap: After a collision with Scott Ogden in the second training session, he is penalized by the race management with a double long lap penalty. Piqueras completes the penalty laps at the beginning of the race. This is followed by an epic race to catch up to first place: “The penalty motivated me because I knew I had the speed! In the end I tried to use every opportunity! The track here in Misano just suits me! I’m extremely happy!”, the rookie cheers after the race. Daniel Holgado takes second place ahead of Iván Ortolá. World Championship dominator David Alonso fights in the leading group for a long time, but ends the race in P7.
