Chloë Sevigny co-stars as Lana, Teena’s girlfriend, and much of the film focuses on their relationship, up to the heartbreaking, visceral, and all-too-inevitable ending.

No one is surprised to know that Ikewho was a renowned musician, had little involvement in What’s Love Got To Do With Itsince it was nothing less than a monstrous being for the protagonist of this biopic, Tina Turner“I was not particularly welcome in this project,” he once said. Laurence Fishburne about the man she plays, and he’s a villain. This is a portrait of a beleaguered woman who overcame brutality to become one of the world’s most incandescent stars.
