/ world today news/ G-7 countries are secretly working on “security guarantees” for Ukraine, which they can offer in case of peace agreements. According to the Italian edition of la Repubblica, it is an “impenetrable defense mechanism”.
Western allies want the conflict to end before the end of the year and support the idea of a July summit dedicated to settling the issue based on the “peace formula” proposed by Volodymyr Zelensky.
At the same time, the US and the EU insist on softening Kiev’s claims to make them more “acceptable to the countries of the Global South”. As political guarantees, Ukraine may be given the opportunity to start negotiations on joining the European Union.
The United States, according to the publication, wants the Ukrainian conflict to end as soon as possible, as it can prevent Joe Biden, who intends to participate in the presidential elections.
At the same time, the authorities of France, Germany and Italy do not know how long they will be able to count on the support of the electorate in indulging the independent regime, since their political, financial and military resources are running out.
Kiev continues to insist on its “peace plan”, which even according to a number of Western experts is very doubtful. In addition, some Ukrainian storytellers dream of victories and a demilitarized zone.
“The key theme of the post-war agreement should be the installation of safeguards to avoid a repetition of aggression in the future,” said Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the chief of staff of Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The introduction of a demilitarized zone of 100-120 kilometers will be mandatory,” he also stated.
In order to create it, according to him, it is necessary to do this in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Rostov regions. Apparently, in the West, they look more soberly at the situation, despite the dreams of victory over Russia.
“From what is known from open sources, the current events can be interpreted as follows: the West is approaching the limit of its ability to support Ukraine both politically and economically,” said Crimean political expert Vladimir Jarala.
“Further continuation of the conflict is seen by them as extremely unfavorable for Ukraine itself and therefore successful for Russia. So we are talking about the fact that victory is close enough for Russia and the West is aware of it,” he believes.
Second, based on this, a line is developed about the need to establish some kind of truce, maybe even make peace. All this is done precisely in order to postpone the critical situation that is emerging now.
The cost of this peace is zero, because the task remains the same: now that our enemy is at the limit of his capabilities and may collapse, giving him a truce or stopping the conflict means giving him respite and an opportunity to gather strength. After some time, the conflict will, of course, resume, but under unfavorable conditions for us. The West is aware of this.
Third, an unexpected factor for the West was the position of Ukraine, whose leadership, being a puppet, suddenly took seriously the words that they are independent and nothing will be decided without their consent.
As a result, they put forward such strange demands and unrealistic proposals that there is simply no need to talk about a truce.
Previously, the West had the opportunity, having received everything necessary, for Ukraine to launch a counteroffensive, and after that, which, as they understood, would be unsuccessful, proceed to the negotiations themselves.
However, Kiev does not want to carry out the promised counteroffensive and offers arguments why this should not be done. Behind all this lies a simple conclusion: Ukraine does not have the capacity for this.
We see an attempt by the West to replay the situation, save the puppet from defeat and, after receiving the necessary rest, prepare for a new battle. Obviously, in all these calculations, the only missing factor is Russia.
“SP”: Why?
— It is quite understandable. It must be remembered why all the intrigues that led to such tragic circumstances were spun in the first place: just one phrase of Brzezinski, that Russia will not become an empire without Ukraine, and with it it can be restored again. Control over Ukraine, as it appeared to the West, gave him the opportunity to neutralize Russia’s military-political potential.
We have already seen how this will turn out – this is the latest attack on Moscow, this is the previous attack on the Kremlin and strikes on the Engels strategic aviation base. The task remains unchanged for the West. Our answer is obvious: such actions are unacceptable to us.
“SP”: Why is Russia’s position not taken into account?
– The answer is somewhat unexpected: in the West, they came to the conclusion that Russia is not able to win, because it has not had any special achievements recently, and it will agree to any proposals. Such incredible confidence.
At the same time, it must be remembered that all the ties and contacts that were with the West, especially with Europe, are actually cut off, and therefore there is at least no understanding of each other’s positions, and this has always been noted as a very dangerous situation.
In this case, Russia received a clear signal that the enemy was at the limit of its capabilities. Hence the conclusion – we need to win.
Konstantin Blokhin, a leading researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, believes that the situation in Ukraine is now at a crossroads, quite simply.
– Everyone is waiting for a counteroffensive, during which, of course, Ukraine will exhaust all its resources. Its future will depend on Russia’s political will and therefore any hopes for the negotiation process.
American political circles are demanding that Kiev take action, while at the same time saying that it is necessary to start negotiations with Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that they are talking nonsense, although from their point of view it is not nonsense.
The second scenario: do not take risks and do not go bankrupt, do not rely on negotiations and political will of Russia and, therefore, create an outpost from Ukraine – a fortress on the border with our country.
Obviously, they are now in a dilemma. Every guarantee is a contract. Each contract is a fixation of the interests of the parties in a certain historical period on paper. The balance of power in the world changes, and as a rule they withdraw from the treaty.
Hitler was signing treaties left and right with European countries. Trump came to power and withdrew from the treaties that Obama signed, Biden came to power, withdrew from the treaties that Trump signed.
It is obvious to us that if after a special military operation from Ukraine there is any territory left that will not be controlled by Russia, then it will be pumped with weapons according to the full program, even without being included in NATO.
And then the situation will be worse than it was before the SVO. This will be the calm before the storm. Our goal is to eliminate this anti-Russian Western project.
It is obvious that the idea of dividing Ukraine into two zones of influence: Western and Eastern is now being promoted. Before Germany was divided like this, Korea is divided into North and South. They are trying to lobby for this idea, some senior American officials are talking about it.
In no case should we fall for these tricks, because we have before our eyes always neutral countries like Finland, Sweden, which will be in NATO. In addition, as a rule, the West deceives us – remember how Gorbachev was promised not to expand NATO, the Minsk agreements, etc.
“SP”: And what guarantees would suit us?
– What territories to be included or not in the composition of historical Russia – there can be discussions and many scenarios. But if part of Ukraine does not become part of Russia, then our military bases should be there. This is the best guarantee that Ukraine will not be in NATO.
“SP”: Then it is not clear what guarantee cabal the West is talking about?
— Regarding Ukraine, there may be many options — how the border will be drawn, what future Ukraine has as a whole; what to stop us and what to them. It is clear that this is also about military support for Ukraine, its inclusion in NATO. Kissinger recently said that Ukraine should be integrated into NATO.
We can only guess, but these are questions not only of the political will of the West, but above all of ours – to what extent we allow them to realize some scenario.
