The German laboratory Aglukon, represented in Uruguay by Maisor and recognized for its Wuxal foliar fertilizers, organized an international congress in Uruguay, which was held on September 10 and 11 at the Radisson Victoria Plaza in Montevideo, with an additional day on the 12th dedicated to visits to crops. Daniel Viera de Britos, member of Maisor, highlighted the magnitude of the event and the relevance of the topics discussed.
“It was a great challenge to organize this congress, but with the support of Aglukon we achieved a quality day,” said Viera. The event brought together 175 technicians from countries such as Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Argentina, covering sectors such as horticulture, extensive agriculture, forestry and pastures.
The congress featured renowned speakers such as Dr. Ricardo Teixeira, who spoke about plant physiology and the importance of understanding their biochemistry for proper foliar fertilization. Eng. Hugo Gonzales, from Paraguay, shared his country’s advances in foliar biostimulation trials, while Eng. Rodrigo Marin from Colombia presented success stories in foliar nutrition in Central America.
Dr. Adalberto Benavides from Mexico highlighted the importance of Zinc in plant nutrition and its impact on human health. Eng. Fernando Diez from Chile addressed the use of biostimulants as tools against plant stress. Cristian Mette, from Aglukon Germany, closed the presentations by showing the company’s innovative technologies for efficient and safe fertilization.
Ignacio Albanese, Head of Agro at Maisor, introduced the company’s technical team, highlighting its focus on developing solutions for the agricultural sector.
For her part, Eng. Marcela González presented the research projects that Maisor is developing in conjunction with national institutions. “It was a very enriching event, with technical exchanges of great value for agriculture,” concluded Viera, highlighting the excellent reception of the congress by the participants.
