Before the duel between the promoted teams, however, there is some trouble with the pitch in Cottbus. Coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz criticized the current conditions at the press conference on Thursday. “The pitch was catastrophic. The grass wasn’t even mowed, not even marked with chalk. That’s really sad. If Cottbus presents itself as a sports city, I expect more support. I’m very disappointed,” the football coach ranted about the training conditions.

There is no training ground in Cottbus that would guarantee professional conditions. “It’s been like that for years, but at some point I’m fed up. We need top conditions to develop further. The club can’t offer that at the moment,” Wollitz continued.
