SCJN will resume activities on September 17

Mexico City. The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) will resume activities starting next Tuesday, September 17. By unanimous agreement, the ministers voted in favor of reactivating work at the highest court of justice, the above was reported by Minister Yasmín Esquivel Mossa at the end of the plenary session.

The judge indicated that within the Court all members, that is to say the eleven ministers, always act with respect even when their positions are different.

He also stated that the issue of the past few days, in which the reform of the Judiciary was approved, was not touched upon.

Esquivel Mossa mentioned that “materially there was no discussion about whether the chains would be removed from the doors of the Court. This must be done because activities are resuming.”

Likewise, regarding whether his peers made any exhortation or call to the Judiciary to issue an agreement on the resumption of activities by judges and magistrates, he said no, since this “is an issue that corresponds to the Federal Judicial Council.

“I have always considered that the service of justice is a fundamental right and must be at the service of people who request justice and so that their files can continue with their respective processing.

“Judges and magistrates must make their own decisions in accordance with their powers,” said the minister.
