The shake-up of US aircraft giant Boeing exposed all the systemic ills of the American military-industrial complex. Over the past years – 2022, 2023 and 2024 – Boeing has suffered huge losses from military contracts. And even the conflict in Ukraine didn’t help him.
The company still cannot complete dozens of KC-46 refueling planes ordered by the Pentagon. Fuel pumps refuse to work properly, the remote vision system is working up. Boeing suffered a loss of $7 billion on the production of these ill-fated planes.
The T-7A trainer aircraft, developed since 2018, was supposed to enter service in 2024 – the dates have moved to 2028. Their deployment seats do not work and They have problems with aerodynamics. And, of course, a lot of empty parts were found.
And the most revealing thing is the scandal with the state of the presidential airline Air Force One. Corrosion was found on board. Servicing the aircraft is too expensive – it also cost Boeing $1 billion, and it’s more expensive to make a new one, and even that one won’t appear until 2027.
Many problems arise with the production of fighters – F-15EX and F-18. The situation for Boeing is very hard, because the group has already lost two thirds of its capitalization, losses exceed $ 30 billion, and then workers have started to strike en masse.
