At just 21 years old, Lilian Fikatu Dunas opened his salon “Dooky Barber shop”, located on rue Thiers, in La Ferté-Bernard (Sarthe). That was two weeks ago, on Friday, August 30, 2024. And since then, the young man, originally from Ethiopia and arrived in France following a adoption at the age of 4, he assures us, with a broad smile: “I am complete every day!”
The singer Colonel Reyel contacted him to get his hair done: Lilian is only 21 years old
It must be said that his reputation is already well established, locally and more widely. “I have already cut starsof the sportsmenof the singers “So, it attracts,” he smiles mischievously.
And while scrolling through the videos on his account Instagramhe says almost banally: “I did Colonel Reyel’s hair (editor’s note: author, composer and performer) twice. In particular, once when he came to do a showcase at the Breil-sur-Mérize nightclub. He saw my Insta and contacted me. I went to do his hair and I put it on the networks.”
Self-taught thanks to four years of experience
Footballers from the SCO d’Angers football club, as well as basketball players from the MSB club in Le Mans, have also already been cut by Lilian for trendy, fashionable cuts, worn by the artists of the moment.
A great advertisement for this young self-taught man.
I had started a CAP hairdressing course but I gave it up after a year to start working at Coiff&Co, in Connerré, four years ago. Then I was an employee in hair salons in Le Mans and Angers. Before wanting to come back here, home, my family being from Luart.

Colonel Reyel: “I’m going to play at home”
A former resident of Savigny-le-Temple, Colonel Reyel will play at home on June 33. And he is delighted! “Sénart is a place I know well,” he explains. “I lived in Savigny and I still have ties to the area, because I have relatives who live there. I am lucky enough to play every weekend in cities all over France, but performing at home is something. The audience will of course be able to hear my most famous songs, but also some surprises! It’s a concert that I am preparing with my DJ and which promises to be varied. I want to give the best to the Savigniens. I can’t wait to be there!”
Tenant in the same building as the premises
Always having, in a corner of his mind, under his afro hair, the desire to settle down. And chance will do things well for Lilian, tenant of 4, rue Thiers, behind the commercial premises previously occupied by the company Engie.
“I was renting an apartment and the owner knew my situation, my desire to open a barber shop, so when the premises became available, he told me about it. I visited it, I got the keys, and I moved in.” As simple as that for the young entrepreneur.
The pride of ‘his’ families
Who, if he works alone at the moment, is considering, “when my schedule is overloaded, taking someone with me to work.”
In the meantime, men, “but also a few women for boyish cuts”, continue to invade Dooky’s salon, his nickname, which makes his parents proud. “Adoptive as well as biological. Before I started, I went to spend a month in Ethiopia to see my family and tell them, and they were very happy for me!”
