João Diogo Manteigas, already a candidate for president of the Benficasaying that the content of the General Assembly this Saturday is the «most important document since its establishment».

“Today is a historic day for Sport Lisboa and Benfica
The day has finally arrived when we will debate and vote on the most important document since our founding. It’s been 14 years since we last approved statutes that are not in line with our club.
In reality:
– they made us wait too long for this legislative review
– the process was not transparent as necessary with lisbon and benfica sports
– statutory deadlines were exceeded…
And even
– members’ private data was made public without permission
Even though …
Today begins a new future for Benfica. I appeal to all participants to approve the global proposal that will be presented at the first point of the convention
We know it’s not the perfect proposal… but… There’s no time to waste!!!
It is a step forward that we will be able to develop the individual discussion on every article….
For example:
– change in the number of votes according to the category of members
– Paper of the houses
– creation of a general assembly to discuss the sports season
– implement the necessary second round in selection activities
Dear Benfica fans, Benfica does not exist without the voice and power of its members! There is no Benfica without democracy!
