Cabaret artist Pieter Bouwman has died at the age of 66. He became known on the radio for the satirical ‘Men of the Radio’ and VPRO radio program ‘Radio Bergeijk’. His family has announced his death. Pieter Bouwman had lung cancer, but still died ‘quite suddenly’.
Together with George van Houts, Bouwman made ‘Radio Bergeijk’ between 2001 and 2007, about a non-existent radio station in the Brabant town of Bergeijk. The program returned briefly in 2019, but only lasted a year. A total of 725 episodes of the radio series were made.
He was also one of the founders of Comedytrain in the 90s. He later worked with big names such as Hans Teeuwen and Gummbah, Micha Wertheim and Paul Haenen.
