The Casa Nacional del Bicentenario, in Recoleta, was filled with color, art… and dogs. Last Thursday, the 19th, the artist Mercedes Larreta inaugurated her exhibition “Donde tu mirada se pierde. Allí” and, in addition to cultural and business personalities, greyhounds were the main protagonists of the afternoon. As the works on display -worked in oil, pastel and chalk- portray scenes of life with dogs, especially greyhounds, Larreta invited everyone to attend with their pets.

Guillermina Valdes was one of the first guests to arrive at the pet friendly show accompanied by Igor, a Russian greyhound. The joy was contagious as more people arrived with their dogs, who were pampered with special treats at the entrance.
Two of Mercedes’ children (she has four) were present: Agustín Campos with his wife, Catalina Sánchez, and their little son, Atlas, and the singer María Campos with her new love, the photographer Sebastián Zavalía.

The exhibition also included photo albums of Mercedes as a child, images captured more than 60 years ago by her own mother, accompanied by drawings that the artist made in her childhood and poems engraved on the walls of the room.
“Dogs have been a lifelong theme of mine. I loved doing it in a place that seems magical to me. I never had a greyhound in my life, but I did have a Dachshund, which has a lot of that breed. These works came from my heart,” Larreta revealed, excited, Hello! Argentina.
Julieta Dei Castelli, creative director of Maison Madame, was delighted to have been able to attend with her dog.
