And in a recent interview, David Schwimmer referred to Matthew Perry and he seemed very surprised by a comment made by his former castmate.

The actor who played Ross participated in a dialogue on the podcast Origins with Cush Jumboand he confessed to being surprised when the host of that space revealed to him a conversation he had with Matthew Perry and in this regard he detailed: “He (Perry) said that you were always a key presence in the scenes, and that people generally looked at you to physically know where the action was going to go.” Later, Cush Jumbo concluded: “Without you as a point of reference, the rest of the things didn’t work. And that is a great, but really a great compliment, which is surely true.”

I think that’s probably what he was referring to.”

During the same podcast chat Origins with Cush Jumbothe actor explained why he turned down an offer to star in a successful film from the late nineties, which was the role of Jay in the film Men in blackwhich ended up becoming a worldwide box office phenomenon. The role eventually went to Will Smith.
Due to prior commitments and his focus on directing his first film, Since You’ve Been Gonethe actor decided to turn down the role. The opportunity to work on that production ultimately fell to Smith, who increased his superstar status thanks to that film, while Schwimmer remained mostly recognized for his television work.

The actor of Friends He admitted that, in retrospect, choosing to turn down the role was a move that probably affected the development of his career. “I had just finished filming The Undertaker (1996)my first film with Gwyneth Paltrowand there were high expectations, although they later did not materialize,” he explained.
