The Ministry of Tourism, with Minister Olga Kefalogianni, has been going on a party of direct assignments for some time now, as after the uproar caused by the purchase of two carpets at the price of 17,890 euros by Despina Moiraraki, new figures are coming out with the expenses and direct assignments involving tens of thousands of euros.

According to documents published in Diaygeia, Olga Kefalogianni with direct assignments proceeded with the following actions

On November 14, 2023, Minister Olga Kefalogianni approved by direct assignment the purchase and installation of wallpaper with a total value of 868 euros including VAT

On November 21, 2023, Olga Kefalogianni approved the direct assignment of sewing and installing curtains with a total value of 1,376 euros including VAT

On March 4, 2024, it approved by direct assignment the preparation of logistical support works of the Office of the Minister of the Ministry of Tourism worth €36,952.00 including VAT

On May 20, 2024, he approved the purchase of 14 pieces of furniture worth 25,000 euros including VAT and transport, finally

On July 5, 2024, a direct assignment was approved for the provision of services related to the analysis, control and evaluation of the efficiency of the actions and operations of the E.O.T.

On September 13, 2024, he approved the purchase of 2 Persian carpets worth 17,980 euros including VAT from Despina Moiraraki

2,244 euros for wallpaper and curtains

As shown in the public documents, the Minister of Tourism approved (14 and 21/11/2023) the provision of wallpaper installation services as well as the provision of sewing and curtain installation services with a total value of €2,440

25,000 euros for armchairs, furniture, dining tables, etc

On May 20, Olga Kefalogianni approved the purchase of furniture by direct assignment. In detail, the furniture is as follows:

2 sofas length 250*100*H70 with fixed hard seat

2 armchairs one seat identical sofa design without side candies with fixed hard seat

1 Coffee table 150*70*H42 with wooden frame, lower lid in black oak and upper lid in Dionysos marble. The cross-sections of the frame will have dimensions suitable for wood construction

Dining room 250*110*75 in oak

6 Dining chairs 53.5*54*H81

2 side tables of dimensions Φ45*H52 with a base in Dionysus marble and a lid in black oak and metal support on an electrostatic base

Two Persian carpets worth 17,980 euros

Also, the Minister of Tourism approved by direct assignment the purchase of two Persian carpets for 17,980 euros, while the characteristics of the carpets are described in detail, which are as follows:

A handmade Persian Nain rug, wool and silk, in a blue background color with a central rosette and corners. Dimensions: 4.30X3.03=13.03 sq.m.

A handmade Persian Nain wool and silk rug with a repeating pattern on a white background and blue border. Dimensions: 3.60X2.77=9.97 sq.m.

Direct assignment of logistical support 36,952 euros

According to a document published on March 4, 2024

At the same time, Olga Kefalogianni approved on March 4, 2024 by direct assignment the preparation of logistical support works of the Office of the Minister of the Ministry of Tourism with a total value of 36,952 euros

In addition, a document published on July 5, 2024, Olga Kefalogianni approved a direct assignment for the provision of services related to the analysis, control and evaluation of the efficiency of the actions and operations of the E.O.T. with a total value of 74,400 euros.

It is possible that Adonis Georgiadis said on social media that dealing with the direct assignments of the Ministry of Tourism is “shit”, but the reality is completely different, as it is a big challenge to spend tens of thousands of euros on carpets and decorative elements, at the moment which the average citizen cannot make a month.
