This weekend, the Stralsund Wildcats volleyball team will start the new season. They will have a new coach at their side: Kim Hakan Buchwald. With his many years of experience in Denmark, he is responsible for rebuilding the team and promoting young talent, according to the club. There are two away games scheduled for this weekend: on Saturday at 7 p.m. they will play against SSF Bonn and on Sunday afternoon the Wildcats will be playing at SV Blau-Weiß Dingden at 3 p.m.
Greifswald sports teams fight for away points
The handball players from HC Vorpommern-Greifswald want to show off their skills in an away game against Güstrower HV on Saturday at 5 p.m. HC coach Westphal is certain: the team must bring more concentration and excitement than last weekend to win in Güstrow. Greifswalder FC wants to take home its fifth away win of the season in a game against FSC 63 Luckenwalde on Saturday at 1 p.m. Last Friday, the football team beat Hertha Zehlendorf 2-0.
Memorial tournament on Usedom
The regional boxing scene is also active this weekend. And so on Saturday from 6 p.m. on Usedom it’s ring time! In honor of the former professional boxing coach Fritz Sdunek, boxing promoter Winfried Spiering is holding a memorial tournament for the 7th time. Five nations will compete against each other in a total of eight professional fights in the Fritz Sdunek Hall of the same name in Zinnowitz. Doors open at 5 p.m. There are 855 places available in the hall.
