Oscar race 2025: No Luxembourg entry for the category “International Feature Film”

There will be no national entry from Luxembourg in the race for an “Academy Award for Best International Feature Film” at the 2025 Oscars. While other film nations have already sent their films into the very first round of nominations in recent days, nothing has been heard from the industry in the Grand Duchy. Just remember the Oscar for Mr. Hublot or the nomination of short film specialist Cyrus Neshvad.

However, there is no information yet on this for the 2025 Oscars. There will probably also not be a case like that of the documentary film specialist Jerry Franck, who lives in the USA and runs a production company there with his wife and was once in the running for an Oscar.

However, according to Frenzel, Luxembourg companies have apparently responded that they would like to enter their works at other international film awards. However, this will only be communicated once a decision has been made.
