The new afternoon talk show “Amado, Belli, Biedermann” had fewer than 200,000 viewers on Tuesday – that resulted in less than two percent market share in the 4:10 p.m. slot, and even missed the one percent mark among 14- to 49-year-olds. This now has consequences: With immediate effect, Das Erste is separating from the afternoon talk show, which was actually supposed to be “a meeting place for women who want to exchange ideas, be entertained and also be inspired.”
The format was hosted by Jeanette Biedermann, Aminata Belli and Marijke Amado – Bavaria Entertainment was the producing company behind the format. The presenting trio embodied a “unique mix of experience, youth and different cultural backgrounds, a new form of talk moderation,” it said in an announcement. However, all episodes were recorded in advance, so it was not possible to keep them up to date on a daily basis.
The talk with the trio now joins a list of afternoon flops on ARD, which also includes several (service) magazines and a cooking show. It remains unclear what will happen to the remaining episodes, which will no longer be broadcast on ARD’s afternoon program. WDR will broadcast the programs that have already been produced at a new time slot, it was announced on Wednesday evening.
Repeats will now be shown at 4:10 p.m. from Thursday. The first show to be shown is “Gefragt – gejagt: allein gegen Alle” hosted by Alexander Bommes. From September 30th, a different program style was planned to be tried out at 4:10 p.m. anyway. The talk test run, which was only planned for two weeks, would have been over by then anyway – and “Mord mit Aussicht” was planned. And that’s how it will stay. Das Erste will then show repeats of the first season, which was produced in 2008.
