A real Guinness election record in our country is on the horizon.
The largest polling station in the Balkans has 14,392 voters. However, it is located in the Blagoevgrad village of Belo Pole, where 600 people actually live.
Citizens of North Macedonia, who also received Bulgarian citizenship, registered there. The practice shows that they do not vote, but by law they are present in the electoral rolls, bTV reports.
This makes it difficult for the electoral commission, which receives 15,000 ballots and has to find those who want to vote after thousands of other names.
At the well-known 2 Struma St. in Belo Pole
600 Macedonians were registered in the substation.
Today this administrative address has been removed.
However, there are more than 200 people registered at six addresses in the village. On one of them is the house of Yakim Stoychev.
“These are friends, acquaintances, friends of acquaintances, etc., people calling simply for an address registration,” he says.
According to local Macedonians, they often visit the village.
“They pass through me, eat, drink and so on. They don’t come to vote,” says Radoslav Ivanov.
