Udinese won in the fourth round of Serie A at Parma 3:2. The Bianconeri had to make up for a two-goal deficit after the first half, but Lorenzo Lucca gave hope to the visitors in the 49th minute. The turnaround was then completed by Florian Thauvin, who was playing in form, and was directly involved in four goals in the new year of the Italian top competition.
Parma’s players did not go well in their return to Serie A, they got four points from the first three matches. But having been competitive in all their matches so far, it was no big surprise that they took the lead against Udinese. The only shock was how soon I Crociati succeeded. Valentin Mihaila found Enrico Del Prat in the penalty area already in the second minute, the Italian defender was uncompromising in the face of the goalkeeper. After a quick start to the game, neither side was able to create a better chance.
Undeterred by early difficulties, Udinese tried to find a way back into the match, but their best efforts from Sandi Lovrič and Martín Payer were blocked before they could test Leandro Chichizola in the Parma goal. The visitors were fearless towards the end of the half, but their audacity paid off in the end. At the other end, Ange-Yoan Bonny struck after finding Dennis Man with a sharp pass after a break down the right wing.
As in the first half, the net soon rippled almost immediately. This time it was Udinese footballers who could rejoice. Hassane Kamara curled his cross from the left wing to the edge of the box, where Lorenzo Lucca was lurking. The striker sent a header into the lower right corner of Chichizola’s goal.
The visitors continued to push for a second goal and it finally came just before the 70th minute when Thauvin equalized. The Frenchman was ready at the back post, from where he netted the equalizer with a cross shot to the post. Things then got worse for the home side as Mandela Keita was sent off after being shown a second yellow card. Barely a few minutes had passed and the Bianconeri took advantage, once again a center from the side was well set up in the box by Thauvin.
Despite all efforts, the home team failed to take at least a point from the game, the numerical disadvantage proved to be an insurmountable challenge. Udinese moved to the top of the table with the win, while Parma remained in 12th place. She has conceded two or more goals in her last three matches against Le Zebrette.
