It is richly illustrated, contains documents and stories about the life of Gen. Mikhail Skobelev – one of the generals with great merits for the Liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke. He became a legend during his lifetime, he led the victorious battles for Pleven, Lovech, Sheinovo, he was associated with the Bulgarian militia. Last year marked the 180th anniversary of his birth. The book tells about his participation in military operations in Central Asia and the Caucasus, in Poland. He died only 38 years old.
The premiere of the book will be on September 17 (Tuesday) from 5:30 p.m. in the marble hall of the Russian Cultural and Information Center at 34 Shipka Street. It will be presented by Prof. Iskra Baeva, journalist Dr. Veliana Hristova and publisher Hristo Georgiev.
