Co-driver of Yann Bozec in the Citroën C3, Océane Launay did a double in the Sologne gardens rally held on Saturday September 14. “After winning at home in 2023, I was hoping to keep the title,” confides the co-pilot.
With more than sixty cars, the 2024 edition was a great success, coupled with an undeniable popular success. For Océane Launay, daughter of Patrice and Sindy Launay, both participants and organizers, this new success confirms her in a passion that she could not escape: “I started as a co-driver with my grandpa Pascal. Then I accompanied my dad, I even got behind the wheel of the Golf three years ago. I would like to find myself at the controls again, I am trying to negotiate with my father, but for the moment I can’t decide,” said the 23-year-old woman, with a broad smile.
On the Heart of France
She started with karting at the age of 13, says she tried her hand at dancing and football, but motor sports quickly took over: “ In the family, everything revolves around cars and motor racing. Loris, my younger brother, has already started karting. But be careful, it is not a constraint, on the contrary, I would like to thank my parents and my grandfather for allowing me to share their passion.
Océane is getting ready to line up in a few days, as co-driver of Yann Bozec, on the Cœur de France rally: “We go there above all for pleasure”she says, only too happy to have to sit next to her driver, while waiting to convince dad to lend him his steering wheel.
